The Zagats 2011 Utsav Review:
Fans
of “flavorful” Indian fare are as “happy as puffed -
up papadums” at this “serene” Midtowner, whose “elegant”
surroundings and “thoughtful” service make for a “marvelous
pre – theatre “ pick; prices are ‘fair” in general,
but the lunch buffet is an “exceptional bargain”. |
The Michelin
Guide Recommended review for 2011:
Make your way up the carpeted steps for a lovely surprise. This is Utsav
- a unique, upscale little hideaway perched high above the hustle and
bustle of 46th street,on an elevated bridge between two midtown office
buildings. Besides the killer views, the restaurant has a light, simple
air to it - with billowing fabrics and leafy green plants.
The gorgeous, overflowing lunch buffet brings office workers in by the
droves, but the a la carte and evening menus are can't - miss as well, with
soft piles of blistered, piping hot naan bread, plump, juicy garlic chicken,
slathered in a tangy chili sauce, paired with a bright green salad;and
spicy, tender lamb stir-fried with coconut and curry leaves.
